CHARLES H. STAFFORD

Charles H. Stafford, 68, of the 1400 block of Ramsey Road, passed away March 11, 1997.

Born in Norfolk County, Va., he was retired from the United Insurance Co. of America with 22 years service. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Norfolk. He was past master of Ruth Lodge (NU)89 and Research Lodge in Richmond. He was a 32 Mason, the Royal Arch Chapter, Scottish Rite Bodies and Khedive Temple of the Shrine. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel McLane; his stepfather, Milton McLane; father, Claud Stafford; and his brother, Walter Stafford.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Billie Stafford; a daughter, Pattie Adams and her husband, David Adams, and his grandson, John Robert Adams, all of Norfolk; a sister, Olive Austin of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Enoch Stafford of Warrenton, Va., Claude Stafford of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Robert Sandford. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be accorded at the graveside.
