REGION Red Cross, Goodwill team up to provide aid for flood victims

In response to the recent tornadoes in Arkansas and floods in several states along the Ohio River, potential donors have asked the Red Cross about giving items to the relief effort.

The Red Cross isn't taking donated goods; it most needs donations of money.

However, the Red Cross has teamed up with Goodwill Industries. Donated items may be taken to any Goodwill thrift store. Donors are asked to tell store personnel that their donation is to benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. In return, Goodwill is giving the Red Cross a price per pound of the goods received.

For more information on the program or the disaster relief efforts in the Ohio Valley, call Sandy Cameron at the Red Cross office, 446-7753.

For information on Goodwill Industries and its support of the Red Cross Disaster Relief, call Katherine Overkamp at 627-7733.

To make a financial donation to help the victims of this or any disaster, call 446-7743. Reynolds Metals Co. gives new cargo van to SEVAMP
