CLARA E. KIRKWOOD

Clara E. Kirkwood, 106, of the 400 block of E. Main St. died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at 2:50 p.m. in Knox County Nursing Home.

She was a homemaker and attended First Presbyterian Church, Galesburg. She lived the past 14 years at the Illinois P.E.O. Home, Knoxville.

Born Aug. 31, 1890, she was a Pennsylvania native and was the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Kolbe. She was predeceased by her husband, George E. Kirkwood; daughter, Lois North, on Feb. 26, 1996; and granddaughter, Elizabeth ``Betsy'' North on Feb. 25, 1975.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Walter North of Galesburg, Ill.; nephew, Wilmer Kirkwood of Ellicott City, Md.; niece, Myrtle Green of Towson, Md.

Private family services will be Wednesday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Kermit Petersen. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions to the Ill. P.E.O. Home, Knoxville. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel, Galesburg, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
