Maxton Ray Midyette, 72, of the 200 block of Frank Drive died at his residence March 18, 1997.
He was born in Swan Quarter, N.C., July 19, 1924, son of the late Carroll and Elizabeth (Betty) Ball Midyette. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ray Midyette. Mr. Midyette was retired from Virginia Power as a boiler operator with 33 years service.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Cahoon Midyette of the home; a daughter, Lori Bradley of Zuni, Va.; two sons, Mark Midyette of Elizabeth City, N.C., Ronald Midyette of Chesapeake; two sisters, Shirley Williams of Snow Hill, N.C., Dora Greene of Winston-Salem, N.C.
A funeral will be conducted in the chapel of Twiford Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Leon Williams officiating. A graveside service will be conducted in Soule Cemetery, Swan Quarter, N.C., at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation in Twiford Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
