CAROLYN B. DAVIS

Carolyn Beth Davis of the 200 block of Sir Chandler Drive died early on the morning of March 19, 1997, in Johnston Willis Hospital, Richmond.

Mrs. Davis was born in Milwaukee, Wis., in 1923 and was the daughter of the late E.W. Beth and Lillian O. Beth. Her husband, Richard F. Davis, died in 1975.

Surviving are a daughter, Beth Suzanne Hinson of Richmond; two sons, Richard Forest Davis II and James Michael Davis of Kill Devil Hills; brother, Col. E.J. Beth of San Antonio, Texas; four granddaughters, Heidi Beth Hinson, Rachel Helen Hinson, Shannon Paige Davis and Sheryl Patricia Davis.

Mrs. Davis formerly belonged to the Eastern Star in Middleville, Mich. She retired from the Virginia Beach Health Department in 1981. She was an active member of Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church and the Dunes of Dare Garden Club. In previous years, she volunteered at the Thomas A. Baum Center and the Colington Harbour Association.

Twiford's Funeral Home, Manteo, is in charge. A funeral will be conducted at Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, Monday, March 24, at 11 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will take place in the funeral home Friday, March 21, from 7 to 8:30 pm.
