BARBARA M. PENNELL

Barbara Monahan Pennell, 59, of the 1600 block of Church Point Lane died Wednesday, March 19, 1997, in a local hospital.

She was born in New Haven, Conn., and spent most of her life in Virginia Beach. She was a past officer in the Witchduck Garden Club. Barbara will be remembered by her friends and family as a loving wife and devoted mother.

Survivors include her husband, R. Jerry Pennell; daughter, Melissa D. Pennell; son, Brian Pennell; her mother, June E. Sloane Monahan, all of Virginia Beach; brother, Richard T. Monahan of Lyme, Conn.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Cox Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. J. Richard Hardison. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday for visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davis Corner Volunteer Rescue Squad, 4672 Haygood Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23455. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
