Louise Lauterbach Laughon, 82, of Albemarle Street, died March 13, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Until she was a young adult, she resided in Hilton Village, Newport News, at which time her family relocated to Portsmouth. She had retired from her position as a secretary for the Portsmouth Public School System and was an active member of Broad Street United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Laughon was the widow of Ernest R. Laughon. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia L. Laughon of Miami, Sylvia L. Cella of Portsmouth; a sister, Virginia Lauterbach Holland of Portsmouth; two brothers, Norman H. Lauterbach of Ormond Beach, Fla., Henry E. Lauterbach of Portsmouth; two sons-in-law, Philip C. Walker of Leesburg and Roy C. Cella of Portsmouth; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, in Broad
Street United Methodist Church, 300 Broad St., Portsmouth. The family will receive friends in the church immediately following the service.
