WILLIAM R. WARREN JR.

William Rice Warren Jr., 80, formerly of Orange, Va. died Wednesday, March 19, 1997, at Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.

Born May 21, 1916, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Dr. William Rice Warren Sr. and the late Margaret White Warren. His wife was the late Thelma Kowalsky Warren.

He was a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and retired from the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two sons, William R. Warren III and his wife, Barbara Warren of Hampton and Michael V. Warren and his wife, Kathy Warren of Ft. McClellan, Ala.; six grandchildren, Alan, Wendy, Greg, John, Michael and Danielle. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Warren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Graham Cemetery, Orange, by the Rev. Scott Hennessy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 367 Greenfields Drive, Orange, Va. 22960. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Preddy Funeral Home, Orange. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
