Edwin Ashby Taylor, 95, died March 24, 1997, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Richmond. He was the son of the late Richard Ashby Taylor and Mary Champe Stringfellow Taylor. He was the widower of Virginia Wright Taylor whom he married in 1929. He attended McGuire's School and was a 1922 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. His service career included duty on the Yangtze River, the North Atlantic, the Pacific, as well as NATO and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. H. Waldo Forster Jr. of Richmond; a sister, Isabel Taylor Evans of San Rafael, Calif.; a grandson, Christopher Barnard Forster of Los Angeles; and a great-grandaughter, Allison Hart Forster of Hamilton, Ohio.
Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery April 7, 1997 at 1 p.m. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
