2ND DEAD BODY FOUND; MAN CHARGED WITH MURDERS

A Norfolk man has been charged with a second murder after a missing man last seen in his company was found dead Tuesday.

Bobby Bethea Jr., 29, of the 800 block of W. 46th St., was charged with capital murder, abduction and robbery in the killing of Malang Manjang, whose body was found Tuesday afternoon, according to police spokesman Larry Hill.

Manjang, 25, of the 1100 block of Loxdell Court in Chesapeake, was found dead behind some businesses in the 800 block of Widgeon Road, Hill said. Police continue to investigate.

Bethea is also charged in the killing of Ahmed Ali, 22, who was found Saturday night in the home he and Bethea shared on West 46th Street. Manjang is believed to be the man who drove Bethea away from the residence on Saturday in a dark blue 1987 Honda.

But when a New Kent County deputy sheriff found Bethea at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Bethea was alone in the Honda, on the side of the road on westbound Interstate 64 in New Kent County, Hill said.

Police had filed a missing-persons report Monday on Manjang.

Bethea, who is being held in the Norfolk Jail, is expected to appear in General District Court today. He also was charged with malicious wounding in connection with a Jan. 28 incident in which a former roommate at the same residence was injured.
