JOHN D. BEAN

John Douglas Bean, 70, of the 4800 block of Kempsville Greens Parkway, died March 27, 1997.

Born in Coeburn, Va., he was the son of the late John M. and Helen S. Bean. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Flora Bean; two daughters, Mary Catherine Jacob of Richmond and Carol Anne Watkins of Suffolk; a sister, Frances Samek of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren, George Jacob Jr., Jennifer Jacob, Michael Cobb, Jessica Cobb and Stephen Watkins III.

Mr. Bean was a graduate of Granby High School and Old Dominion University. He was retired from the American Bank Stationery Co. and the Virginia National Guard.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Joyce Kramer. The family will receive visitors at 4846 Kempsville Greens Parkway, Unit (NU)405, Virginia Beach. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
