PATTIE I. COMPTON

Pattie Idessa Compton, 90, a resident of Lakewood Shore for 33 years, died March 27, 1997, in Norfolk.

Born in Bethel Township of Perquimans County, N.C., on Nov. 18, 1906, she was the widow of Charles Oliver Moody Compton. She was self-employed and made slip covers for more than 30 years, working for P.H. Rose, Center Shops, House of Classic and many others. She was a member of Bayside Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Louvenia Idessa Townsend Perry and the late Dr. Alexander Perry.

Survivors include four daughters, Bonnie C. Benham of Florida, Nancy C. Benner of Pennsylvania, Sally C. Gegan, Pattie L. Brown, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Ronald Perry of Norfolk; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, infant Charles O. M. Compton Jr. and Charles Chester Compton.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Don Wilson. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family will be at the funeral home from noon until 1 p.m. Monday to greet friends. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
