George Ruble Evans, 84, of the 3200 block of Brighton St., died March 28, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A retired supervisor of Power Plant for Norfolk Naval Shipyard, he was a member of Portsmouth Seventh Day Adventist and a Western Branch Masonic Lodge (NU)189, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, NARFE Chapter (NU)1293, Red Knight, Simonsdale Anglers Club, AARP and Floyd Bird Hunt Club, Suffolk. He was a native of Highland, Ohio.
Survivors include Mary Frances Evans; two sons, G. Thomas Evans of Lincoln, Neb., Jerry L. Evans of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Ethel Brose of Lynchburg, Ohio, Margaret Etienne of Five Mile, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday in Loving Funeral Home Chapel, Churchland, by Pastor Rex Frost. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be in Beaufort Cemetery, Lynchburg, Ohio at 1 p.m. Wednesday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
