Luther Beverly Barden, 86, died Saturday, March 29, 1997, in an Elizabeth City hospital.
Mr. Barden, a native of Blackstone, Va., was a retired repairman for C&P Telephone Co. He was a member of the Corolla Chapel and the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge (NU)11, AM&FM. Mr. Barden was the son of the late Joseph Beverly and Hattie Smith Clay Barden and the husband of the late Jessie Stables Barden.
Mr. Barden is survived by a daughter, Sallie B. Sheplee and husband, Peter, of Kill Devil Hills,; a son, Luther Kersey Barden and wife, Leslie, of Bethesda, Md.; and four grandsons, John Neville Ammen IV, Mark Barden Ammen, James ``Jamie'' Barden and Benjamin ``Ben'' Barden.
Funeral services will be held at the Corolla Chapel on Tuesday, April 1, 1997, at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. John Strauss officiating. The family will receive friends at the Corolla Chapel before the service from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in National Memorial Park, Falls Church, Va., on Thursday. Memorial donations may be made to the Corolla Chapel Building Fund. Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
