Anna U. Volhein, 81, the widow of Adolph E. Volhein, went to be at peace withher maker on Friday, March 28, 1997. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Mrs. Volhein was an Avon Representative, serving the Peninsula for many years. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and an avid bridge player. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include three daughters, Pauline V. Healy of Hampton, Mary V. Bishop of Portsmouth and Alice V. Rosser of Hampton; three sisters, Helen Blaha of Prince George, Alice Peterson of Vero Beach, Fla., and Frances Sebera of Prince George; a sister-in-law, Elise Volhein of Hampton; two brothers, Charles Uzel of Felton, Pa., and Albert Uzel of Richmond; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother, Mary E. Volhein and Emil Uzel.
A Christian Service Wake will be held today at 7 p.m. in Peninsula Funeral Home followed by a visitation until 8:30 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church by Father John J. Dorgan with interment in Peninsula Memorial Park. At other times, the family will be at the home of Pauline Healy. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
