JESSE T. BALLANCE

Jesse Thomas Ballance, 75, of the 1500 block of Seaboard Ave. died March 30, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Retired from the Norfolk Fire Department with 29 1/2 years service, he was a Norfolk native and member of Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 795, South Norfolk, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and a veteran of the Coast Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Helena Marie Ballance of the home; two daughters, Frances Evelyn Kight of Norfolk and Jessie Marie Cahoon of Chesapeake; son, James Thomas Ballance of Chesapeake; two sisters, Virginia Allen of Chesapeake and Margaret Louise Schneers of Baltimore; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 1997, in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, Chesapeake, South Norfolk Chapel. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
