W.C. ``Red'' Billings, 69, of the 600 block of Forest Road died Wednesday, April 2, 1997, in a Hampton hospital.
Mr. Billings was born in Troutdale, Va., and was the son of the late Wint and Lessie Waddell Billings. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and Korea. Mr. Billings was a member of VFW Post, Norfolk, and a life member of DAV, Robert Graham Chapter 26. He retired after 32 years of service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was the owner of Billings Mowers for 37 1/2 years.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Pauline Crotts Billings; his two sons, Wintford Allan Billings and his wife, Clarice of Lexington, S.C. and Larry David Billings of Moyock; his sister and her husband, Thelma and Ewell Spivey of Galax, Va.; his two brothers and their wives, James and Mary Waddell of Welcome, N.C., and Frank and Helen Billings of Welch, W.Va.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Oman Funeral Home Chapel, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Frank Biggs. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
