AVEST L. BECKETT

Avest Lee ``Aunt Abby'' Beckett, 94, of the 900 block of Widgeon Road died March 31, 1997, in Lake Taylor Hospital.

She worked for the U.S. Navy for 25 years at Norfolk Naval Air Station and was a native of Norfolk County. She was the widow of Theodore Roosevelt Beckett and a member of Zion Light Disciples of Christ Church, Norfolk, and the church Mothers Board and a former Sunday school teacher and choir member. She taught piano to neighborhood children.

Survivors include nephews, Curtis Lee Chesson, Jarvis Justice, Jonathan Justice, Joseph Justice; nieces, Jeanette Justice, Janice Justice, Crystal Chesson, Channel Chesson, Avest Chesson, Junoe A. Justice and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday, April 5, 1997, in Zion Light Disciples of Christ Church, Norfolk, by Elder William Best. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home Inc. is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
