Andrew Franklin Moyer, 72, of Stevens Place, died April 2, 1997, in his residence.
Born in Staunton, Va., he was the widower of Annabel Woodall Moyer. He was a survey party chief, retiring with 42 years of service for the Virginia Highway Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Cradock United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Moyer-Higgs, and Andrea M. King and her husband, Donni King, all of Portsmouth; two sisters, Eula Jean Key of Hyattsville, Md., and Nancy Lee Mitchell of Newport News; a brother, Robert Holt Moyer of Mustoe, Va.; two grandchildren, Heidi H. Carpenter and Elizabeth K. Fritz, both of Portsmouth.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Michael Robbins. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The family will be at 1812 Redgate Drive, Portsmouth.
