Stella Mae Brownley, 84, of the 3900 block of George Washington Highway died April 2, 1997, in her residence.
A native of Virginia, she was a sales clerk and a Methodist.
Survivors include a sister, Catherine A. Garrett of Portsmouth; brother, Ernest James Brownley Jr. of Chesapeake.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, in Olive Branch Cemetery by Pastor Harold Bergey. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted, and memorial donations may be made to Mount Pleasant Mennonite Church, 2041 Mount Pleasant Road, Chesapeake, Va. 23322.
