INVESTMENT FIRM PROMOTES BROWN: Arch M. Brown Jr. was promoted to vice president of Scott & Stringfellow. He has been with the company since 1992. He specializes in professional money management and retirement planning for high net worth individuals and retirement plans and stock buy back plans for corporations.

COMPANY NAMES FELKER VICE CHAIRMAN, MOORE CEO: D. Richard Felker II, previously chief executive officer of Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler, was named vice chairman of the company. Jerry L. Moore is the new chief executive officer. He was previously senior vice president of Dominion Land Management Co., the real estate unit of Dominion Capital Inc.

DUDLEY ADVANCES IN PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY: Michael M. Dudley, senior vice president of Sentara Health System, has advanced to Fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society representing more than 30,000 health-care executives. To obtain Fellow status, members must demonstrate their education, experience and leadership in the health-care field over a period of several years. Fellow status is the highest level of professional achievement in the society.

TULL ELECTED TO BOARD: The Institute of Certified Financial Planners elected Robert ``Robin'' W. Tull Jr. to the National Board of Directors for 1997. He is the principal owner of R.W. Tull & Associates.

HAMPTON

EWING EARNS CERTIFICATION: Wayne L. Ewing, director of human resources for Science and Technology Corp., an advanced technology company, earned certification as a senior professional in human resources.

PENINSULA

ABEL NAMED VP, PENINSULA AREA EXECUTIVE AT CENIT: Gloria J. ``Bunny'' Abel was named vice president and Peninsula area executive for CENIT Bank. In addition to being manager of CENIT's Kiln Creek office in York County, she is also responsible for the bank's retail operations at CENIT's Hampton and Newport News offices. She was previously a senior vice president, area manager and sales manager for a major local bank.

VIRGINIA BEACH

EVELEIGH ELECTED PRESIDENT OF FAMILY LAW ORGANIZATION: Cheshire l'Anson Eveleigh was elected president of the Family Law Organization of Greater Hampton Roads. She is a member of Wolcott, Rivers, Wheary, Basnight & Kelly.

BANK NAMES EATON-MICHAELS VICE PRESIDENT: Princess Anne Bank named Brenda Eaton-Michaels a vice president and Virginia Beach area executive. She will supervise the bank's six Virginia Beach offices.
