Rhuben ``Cap'' Pettus Jr., 67, died April 3, 1997, in a local hospital.
He was born in Norfolk County.
Survivors include his mother, Alice Turner of Norfolk; two daughters, Yvonne Mitchell and Annie Barksdale of Norfolk; four sons, Marshall Pettus, Rhuben Pettus III, Gregory Pettus and Keith Barksdale, all of Norfolk; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Charles Pettus; three sisters, Mary Penn and Ruby Milteer, both of Norfolk, and Ruth Cooke of Chesapeake; a special friend, Lillie Mae Hubbard; and a host of other relatives and friends.
