Mary Alice Ackerly Hill, 85, died April 4, 1997, in a local hospital.

The widow of Herbert J. Hill, she was a Louisville, Ky., native and a Protestant. She was a retired office clerk of N.O.B. and a member of the Daughters of the Nile 124, Order of the Eastern Star (NU)131, Order of the Amaranthans (NU)9, Ladies Oriental Shrine and Old Dominion Shrine.

Survivors include two daughters, Eleanor McCoy of Virginia Beach, Mary Ryscuck of Newark, Del.; eight grandchildren, Teresa Madsen, Roger McCoy, Ginger Joyner, Matthew McCoy, Jonathan Ryscuck, Heidi Ryscuck, Heather Ryscuck, Katie Ryscuck; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605-4277. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
