Eugene W. Sawyer, 79, died April 10, 1997, in a local hospital.
A retired owner/driving instructor at Academy Driving School, he was a Norfolk native and the widower of Sarah R. Sawyer. He was a graduate of Fork Union Military Academy.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Laura A. Christou of Virginia Beach.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Allen G. Reifsnyder. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
