Gerard Josef Caelen, 78, of the 2200 block of Gilmerton Road, died April 12, 1997, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mr. Caelen, a native of Limberg, Holland, was the retired owner and operator of Geneva Park Shell Station. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Deep Creek Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his wife, Anna W. Caelen; two daughters, Trudy C. Parr and her husband, Paul, of Chesapeake, and Henriette Morse and her husband, Dennis, of Virginia Beach; two sons, William F. Caelen of Livermore, Calif., and Frank L. Caelen of Chesapeake; a sister; two brothers; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Monday in Holy Angels Catholic Church by the Rev. James E. Dorson. Entombment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Princess Anne Mausoleum, Virginia Beach. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends at the church Monday beginning at 6 p.m.
