THE VIRGINIA SYMPHONY is in New York for its Tuesday night debut at Carnegie Hall. But those folks who can't make it shouldn't feel left out.
Tuesday morning, around 8:30, a dozen or so members of the orchestra will set up outside the studios of NBC's ``Today Show'' - weather permitting - and play the show's theme music. Word is they may be interviewed.
At 9 a.m. Tuesday, NPR's popular ``Performance Today'' broadcast features the symphony's April 12-13 Chrysler Hall performances of the Piano Concerto by Norfolk State Professor Adolphus Hailstork. The concerto is the centerpiece of the Carnegie Hall program. Hear it on WHRO-FM (90.3).
Finally, symphony music director JoAnn Falletta and executive director Dan Hart will be interviewed Thursday on ``Fox on Arts.''
The good news is the half-hour program, which airs at 3:30 p.m., is seen in nearly 22 million homes on the Fox News Channel. The bad news is FNC isn't carried in Hampton Roads.
Maybe you know someone with a VCR in a market that gets the station. ILLUSTRATION: FILE PHOTO
