NEW SENIOR LOAN OFFICERS AT MORTGAGE COMPANY: Cenit Mortgage Company promoted Barbara B. Sachon, Dorothy M. Beazley and Jenny D. Poppell to senior loan officers. Sachon and Poppell were previously Cenit loan officers and Beazley, a Cenit Mortgage loan officer.

LAUTERBACK NAMED SALES MANAGER: Eddy Lauterback was named southern region sales manager for First State Packaging. He has spent the last 10 years as an account representative in North Carolina and Virginia.

NORFOLK

BURROUGHS, PRICE TO RECEIVE HONORARY DEGREES: Charles F. Burroughs Jr. and Harry B. Price Jr., who both played important roles in the founding of Eastern Virginia Medical School, will receive honorary degrees from the school during the EVMS commencement exercise May 17. Both will become doctors of letters, honoris causa. Edward E. Brickell, EVMS president, said both deserve the honor because they are among a handful of supporters who made EVMS possible and continue to make important contributions.

ANDERSON JOINS LANDMARK SPECIALTY PUBLICATIONS: Tracy L. Anderson was named book promotion manager at Landmark Specialty Publications. Landmark Specialty Books is made up of Antique Trader Books and Tuff Stuff Books. She will be responsible for the creative design and implementation of the marketing and promotional strategies for the company's expanding line of books. She was a graphic designer for Tidewater Community College.

TAYLOR APPOINTED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR KIDS VOTING VIRGINIA: Joanne Taylor was appointed executive director for Kids Voting Virginia, an organization providing nonpartisan civic curriculum to schools and gives students in grades K-12 an opportunity to vote at official polls on Election Day. Taylor has worked as an independent contractor since 1995 for television broadcast and educational outreach programs for WHRO in Norfolk, WETK in Vermont, WTKR News Channel 3 in Norfolk and Coastal Video in Virginia Beach. The Virginian-Pilot and The Landmark Foundation, major sponsors of Kids Voting, introduced the program to Virginia in 1996.

SPADACCINI APPOINTED TO DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES STATE BOARD: Robert C. Spadaccini Sr. was appointed to the Department of Social Services State Board. He is a collection manager for David Dickerson & Associates Attorneys At Law.

MORGAN PRODUCTS NAMES LAHR CFO AND OLSON HUMAN RESOURCES VICE PRESIDENT: Morgan Products named Mitchell J. Lahr vice president, finance and administration, chief financial officer and secretary. Darrell J. Olson was named vice president, human resources. Prior to joining the manufacturer and distributor of specialty building products, Lahr served as vice president and chief financial officer of Stella Foods in Lincolnshire, Ill.
