Golf benefit,
buffet set to tee off
The Virginia Beach Court Appointed Special Advocates will host its third annual golf benefit and buffet April 24 at Cypress Point Country Club in Virginia Beach.
The event raises funds for CASA, which trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children. Tournament and hole sponsorships are still available. A buffet dinner and awards ceremoney will follow the tournament.

Fundango Festival
for kids April 26
The Independent Order of Foresters Kids' Fundango Festival will be held April 26.
Children can get their faces painted, play musical instruments and watch puppet shows from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach. The event is a fund-raiser for Spectrum Puppets, which informs children about child abuse through puppet shows. Organizers also want to inform the public about children's issues, child abuse prevention efforts and services that are available for children and families.
Children will be able to dress up in costumes and sing along to favorite children's songs, race children's Power Wheels cars and try different musical instruments with a group called Little Big Band.

Lawyer contest will
benefit Camp Civitan
The Third Edition of the Funniest Lawyer contest will be held April 25 to raise money for Camp Civitan.
The camp is sponsored by Family Services of Tidewater Inc., and is a summer recreation program for people with mental disabilities. The camp offers a day program and an overnight program for the region's disabled.
The event will be at Grand Affairs on Pleasure House Road in Virginia Beach and will begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $15.
