Frances Miller Ansell, with a lasting ability to respond to life, and ever considerate of her family, looked confidently at those around her, and made the transition on April 12, 1997, at Virginia Beach General Hospital.
A gifted business woman, Frances retired with Judy Brumley as co-founder and co-owner of Happy Days Nursery School. Her ministry to children was the center of her life, and was carried into family, business, Sunday School, and the Virginia Beach community. Frances was a 1936 graduate of Ashville Normal and Teachers College of Ashville, N.C. Virginia Beach Community Chapel was her spiritual home and support for her life in Christ.
Mrs. Ansell was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Hope Ansell, and a brother, B.C. Miller. She is survived by her brothers, Joe Miller, Fred Miller, Lloyd Miller; her children, Carolyn Ansell Marks, Charles Ansell, and Marjorie Ansell Zerbian; and her grandchildren, Susan Wilkinson Sumerlin, Paul Wilkinson, Jonathan Ansell, Carrie Ansell, Laurie Ansell, Christopher Marks, and John Marks.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday April 17, 1997 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Laskin Road Chapel by the Rev. Larry E. Shoaf. Burial will be at Princess Anne Memorial Park in Virginia Beach. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening beginning at 7 p.m. Friends wishing to share in Frances' love for children and learning may do so through contributions to the Missionary Fund at Virginia Beach Community Chapel.
