Christy W. ``Chris'' Cottrill, 79, of the Brentwood section of Chesapeake, died April 13, 1997.
A native of Lumberport, W.Va., he was retired from the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station and St. Julien's Creek Naval Ammunition Depot. He was a member and clerk of the Session at Cradock Presbyterian Church, Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge (NU)178, and Portsmouth Chapter (NU)352 National Sojourners. He was a retired Navy lieutenant commander, serving in World War II aboard the Belleau Wood, NARFE.
Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Campbell of Spartanburg, S.C., Sue Kramer of Suffolk, Mary Economou of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, David, Matthew and Andrew Campbell and Michael and Jenny Kramer.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cradock Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Richard W. Lovingood. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites and military honors. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
