From 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m Tuesday, all money received was going to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Their goal was to raise $4,000.

For a donation of $15 and up, anyone who walked in could leave sporting a new hairdo. For $50 and up, they could also leave with a certificate and a new compact disc.

Holman, president of Styles by Us, said he thought of the fund-raiser several years ago. He hopes to make the hair-a-thon a semiannual event, each time giving money to a different organization. He'd also like to get other stylists to participate.
