Carolyn J. Farabee, 59, passed away peacefully after a short illness in her home on April 14, 1997.
A manager for The Reef restaurant for several years, she was a Greensboro, N.C., native and the widow of George R. Farabee Sr. She was active with the Salvation Army in Norfolk and the Sportsman Club in Virginia Beach.
Survivors include her son, George Ronald Farabee Jr. of Chesapeake; mother, Elizabeth Bowles of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many, many friends. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Farabee.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Rosewood Memorial Park by Capt. Rick Mikles. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge.
