EMMETT C. GREEN

Emmett C. Green, 69, of the 300 block of Collins Road, died April 15, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

A native of Suffolk, he was a general foreman of transportation for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Great Fork Baptist Church, Whaleyville McAlister Masonic Lodge (NU)185, Whaleyville Eastern Star Lodge (NU)137 and past master of Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge (NU)178. He was also an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Ruth Green; two sons, Danny R. Green of Hobbsville, N.C., Douglas B. Green of Suffolk; a sister, Katherine Buckhannon of Portsmouth; a brother, Richard A. Green of Panama City, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by Pastor Steve Siegrist. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
