TOURING CHOIRS WILL PERFORM AT ST. ANDREW LUTHERAN MAY 2

The Martin Luther Choir and Augsburg Bell Choir of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Silver Spring, Md., will present a concert at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 4811 High St. West at 7:30 p.m. May 2.

The choirs are on a spring tour that includes a performance at Luther Manor, a residential facility for senior citizens in Virginia Beach, at 1:30 p.m. May 3.

Other stops on the tour include St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Williamsburg and St. Luke Lutheran Church in Richmond.

The choir program will feature ``A Season to Celebrate'' by Allen Pote. The musical drama focuses on traditional holidays and attempts to capture the essence of each through words, music, action and visual impressions.

The bell choir will perform selections representing a wide range of styles and periods.

Both musical groups comprise high school students who are members of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, a congregation of 2,300 members in the Metro Washington, D.C., Synod.

The concert is free and open to the public.

However, a free-will offering will be received to help defray expenses of the tour.
