Marvin Thue Snowden Sr., 61, of HCR Box 73, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
He was a native of Currituck County, N.C., and retired U.A.W. Local 919 Health and Safety Representative with Ford Motor Co., where he had been a forklift operator and a former union committee man. Mr. Snowden was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, American Legion Hut Post 288, Coinjock, a former Currituck County commissioner in the 1970s and had served with the North Carolina Army National Guard.
Mr. Snowden was the son of the late Thue and Pattie Davis Snowden and the husband of JoAnn Berry Snowden of the home.
Besides his wife, Mr. Snowden is survived by two daughters, Carrie Snowden Stoltz of Maple and Linda Snowden Jones, and her husband, Michael Robert Jones of Zambia, Africa; a son, Marvin Thue Snowden Jr. and his wife, Cathy Snowden of Maple; and five grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, by the Rev. Frank Thigpen. Burial will follow in Snowden Cemetery, Maple. The family will be at the residence. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
