LADY MONARCHS SIGN THEIR FIFTH RECRUIT

Bettina Love, a 6-foot-2 swing player from Edison Tech High School in Rochester, N.Y., has signed a letter-of-intent to play basketball for Old Dominion.

Love averaged 31.6 points and 13 rebounds in leading the Edison Inventers to a 13-7 record her senior season. For the third consecutive year, she was named to northwestern New York's Super 15 regional team, chosen by area sportswriters and coaches. In her four years of starting for the Inventers, she tallied better than 1,900 points and 900 rebounds. The past two seasons, she has been the Rochester League's MVP.

``She's an exceptional player who can play anywhere,'' said Edison Tech athletic director Judy Knight. ``She can set out there and pop 3s or play in real close. I think she'll adapt easily at Old Dominion.''

Love, the fifth player the Lady Monarchs have signed, selected ODU over Syracuse, Colorado, Marshall, East Carolina and Southern Methodist.
