CHARLES H. SMITH

Charles Henry ``Gramps'' Smith, 90, of the 5900 block of Hattie St., died April 17, 1997.

Born in Dexter, Mo., he was the widower of Fannie Eugenia Smith. He was a retired self-employed storekeeper and farmer.

Survivors include a daughter, Belva ``Bobbie'' Tomlinson of Boise, Idaho; 16 grandchildren including Ann Etheridge and Bill McCullough; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 685 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Joseph E. Brewer. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday, April 20, one hour prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements.
