BRIAN M. LYNCH

Capt. Brian M. Lynch, 47, died unexpectedly on the evening of April 17, 1997. He was a pilot with USAir Express.

Mr. Lynch attended Catholic schools on Long Island, N.Y., and Parks Aviation College, St. Louis. He was crop duster on Long Island and later in Virginia prior to beginning his airline career with Henson Air Lines in 1979 and held the position of captain with the company, which is now known as USAir Express. In addition to his duties as captain, he held the position of MEC Chairman of ALPA. He also served in many capacities in the training department at USAir Express. Capt. Lynch had accumulated in excess of 20,000 hours of flying time during his career.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Beth Griffin-Lynch; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Seamus Lynch; sister, Kate Lewis of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; two brothers, Kevin Lynch and Dion Lynch, both of Cutchogue, N.Y.; three nieces and three nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Peninsula Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Monday at the church from 6:30 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass. A reception will be held at the church after the service. Interment will take place in Cutchogue, Long Island, N.Y., Wednesday.
