CHARLIE A. SMITH

Charlie A. ``Smitty'' Smith, 86, of the 4800 block of Robin Hood Road died April 17, 1997, in Hampton Veteran's Affairs Hospital.

He had retired from the Coast Guard as a radio electrician. He was a Statesboro, Ga., native and a member of Bethel Praise and Worship Center. He was also former owner of Smith Realty.

Survivors include his wife, Vilma E. Smith; sisters, Myrtle Husley of Meter, Ga., Lila Mae Floyd of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Eunice Thompson of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, one sister and a daughter, Catherine Anne Smith.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethel Praise and Worship Center by the Rev. Eleazer A. Tillet. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
