WALTER R. HARRELL

Walter Russell Harrell, 63, died April 20, 1997.

Mr. Harrell was born in Bertie County, the son of the late Walter Clyde and Mamie Conner Harrell. He was the retired owner and operator of Carolina Bait & Tackle in Como and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Louise Story Harrell; five daughters, Sherry H. Stephens and her husband, Irvan, of Como, Pat H. Keeter and her husband, Dean, of Courtland, Kathy H. Gibson and her husband, Johnny, Susan H. Parker and her husband, Al, both of Como, and Brenda H. Edwards of Herndon, Va.; two sons, Ricky Harrell and his wife, Georgia, and Steve Harrell, all of Como; a brother, Rudolph Harrell; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. Memorials may be made to the Como Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Como, N.C. 27818. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
