CRIME LINE

SUFFOLK

On April 11, the Bennett's Creek Texaco convenience store in the 3000 block of Bridge Road, U.S. Route 17, was robbed.

A man entered the store, pointed a chrome-plated semiautomatic pistol at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk gave the robber a small amount of cash.

The robber then fled.

He is described as black and in his mid-20s, 5 feet 11 and 200 pounds, with a medium complexion and a thin mustache. He was wearing a black ball cap and a dark jacket.

HAMPTON

On April 4, about 10:45 a.m., the manager of the 7-Eleven store in the 2100 block of Executive Drive was robbed in the parking lot.

A man, armed with a black revolver, approached him and demanded money. After taking the money, the suspect ran south through the woods toward Executive Towers.

The suspect is described as black, in his late teens to early 20s, 5 feet 11, 160 pounds, with a medium complexion and a thin mustache. He was wearing a Navy blue knit cap with two white stripes, a dark windbreaker, dark pants and white sneakers.

VIRGINIA BEACH

On April 8, Joseph B. Haught was shot at the Military Highway Pawn Shop in the 700 block of Military Highway.

About 6 p.m., co-workers called police and paramedics when they discovered Haught, 65, suffering from a gunshot wound. He died the next day at a hospital.

The shooting, which occurred between 5:30 and 6 p.m., may have been the result of an attempted robbery.

Kim Ann Gonzales, 37, is missing.

Her boyfriend, Thomas C. Frazier, took her to a hospital April 9 because she had threatened suicide and he feared she had tried to harm herself.

About 3 p.m., as they neared the hospital, Gonzales got out of the car. According to the hospital, she did check in and was treated and released.

Investigators also have been unable to locate Gonzales' daughter, Katie Acevedo, 17.

Acevedo may have gone to Florida with a male companion, however, and she is not reported as missing. Detectives would like to speak with her, however, regarding her mother's disappearance. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
