IRVIN A. BRAUTIGAM

Irvin Albert Brautigam, 88, of the 1800 block of Tolworth Drive died Tuesday, April 22, 1997, in Bayside Health Care Center.

Mr. Brautigam was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio, the son of the late Frederick Brautigam and Clara Fox Brautigam. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard, having served in World War II. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Oak Park, Mich., and was active in the senior citizen groups in Berkley, Mich., prior to moving to Virginia. Mr. Brautigam was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline Laughlin Brautigam and was the widower of Alice Pat Donoghue Brautigam.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Hall of Virginia Beach; son, Douglas Brautigam of Grand Blanc, Mich.; two sisters, Celia Schaub of Wapakoneta and Carolyn Maxheim of West Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Robert Brautigam of Lima, Ohio; three grandchildren, Stephen Hall of Chesapeake, Amy Hall of Virginia Beach and Katherine Brautigam of Grand Blanc; great-grandchild, Ashley Hall of Chesapeake.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in Bayside Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Richard Keever. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross. Cremation Society of Virginia, Tidewater Office, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
