INFRARED EYE IN THE SKY

Bo Garvin of the Virginia Beach Police Department uses an infrared

camera to look for a missing person in Virginia Beach. The $154,000

camera - a Forward Looking Infrared system - was unveiled Tuesday.

It can be mounted on either of the city's police helicopters. At

night, the camera ``sees'' heat, allowing police to find fleeing

criminals or lost people. The camera can also see inside burning

houses to help the Fire Department.
