Hazel Mattie Stephenson, 68, of the 2600 block of Greenwood Drive died April 24, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of Portsmouth, she was the widow of William M. Stephenson. She was a cashier at Colonial Stores and a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Marshall L. Stephenson of Maryland and W. David Stephenson of Portsmouth; three sisters, Edna H. Myers of Suffolk, Evelyn H. Todd and Sandra J. Thompson, both of Portsmouth; five brothers, William J. Harris of Madison, Ala., L. Alton Harris, Robert E. Harris, G. Earl Harris and James C. Harris, all of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 1997, in First Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Nelson Fields. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at 413 Felton Road, Portsmouth.
