ELIZABETH A. EMERSON

Retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Elizabeth Ann Emerson, 46, died April 23, 1997, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

Born in New York City, she was a member of First Landing Catholic Chapel at Fort Story. She retired with 19 years of service, and her last position in the Navy was commanding officer of Personnel Support Activity Far East in Yokosuka, Japan.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas H. Emerson; two sons, Christopher and Michael, both of Virginia Beach; her parents, Isabel Rodriguez Pozzi and George N. Seilhamer, both of Puerto Rico; two sisters, Grace Benitez and Stella Nogueras, both of Puerto Rico; and a brother, Lawrence Seilhamer of Puerto Rico.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
