Dorothy L. Wharton, 72, of the 200 block of Lincoln Road, died April 24, 1997, in her home.
Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., she was a housewife and a member of Canaan Baptist Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include her husband, Richard C. Wharton Sr.; a daughter, Pamela Wharton Pridgen of Whiteville, N.C.; a son, Richard C. Wharton Jr. of Chesapeake; a sister, Mary Eaton of Stratford, Conn.; a grandchild, Michael L. Thompson of Chesapeake; and many other surviving relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Canaan Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Theodore R. Little Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be in church at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
