Samuel Riddick Sr., 87, of the 2900 block of Galberry Road, died April 25, 1997, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Born in Norfolk County, he was a retired warehouseman for General Electric Supply Co. with 24 years service. He was a member of Divine Baptist Church, Chesapeake, participating on the senior choir and for many years as the sexton.
Survivors include his wife, Mary R. Riddick; five daughters, Delores Elliott of Bremerton, Wash., Gwendolyn Williams of Chesapeake, Linda Woods of Lakewood, N.J., Johnniel Bowe of Bridgeton, Mo., Janet Halsey of Norfolk; three sons, Samuel T. Riddick Jr., David C. Riddick, both of Chesapeake, William Oliver Riddick of San Diego; two sisters, Addie Riddick, Mary Brown, both of New York City; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Divine Baptist Church by the Rev. J.R. Briggs. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Monday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
