Charlotte J. Hallam, 74, died April 25, 1997, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.
Mrs. Hallam was born in Sheridan, Wyo., and was a member of the Christian Science Churches in Virginia Beach and McLean, Va. She established the first kindergarten in Saudi Arabia and taught in schools at Guantanamo Bay Navy Base, Cuba, and at the Army base in Oahu, Hawaii. She graduated with a B.S. degree in education from the University of Nebraska.
Survivors include her husband, O. Keith Hallam; a son, O. Keith Hallam Jr. and his wife, Maria Hallam, of Annandale, Va.; two sisters, Natalie Koehler of Cullom, Ill., and Anita Van Landingham of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren, O. Keith Hallam III and Michael N. Hallam, both of Annandale.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. May 1 in Everly Funeral Home, Fairfax, Va. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at 1 p.m. May 1. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
