MOYOCK MAN DIES IN CHESAPEAKE WRECK

A head-on collision early Sunday left a 27-year-old Moyock man dead and sent another man to a hospital, police said.

The accident occurred about 2:10 a.m. in the 3700 block of S. Battlefield Blvd., said Dave Hughes, police spokesman. Randall Scott Overcash was headed south in his Ford Escort when he drifted into the northbound lane of traffic and collided with a Ford Bronco.

Overcash was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Bronco was taken to a hospital and suffered injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, Hughes said. His identity was withheld.

Hughes said both drivers were wearing seat belts during the accident, which is under investigation. KEYWORDS: ACCIDENT TRAFFIC FATALITY
