Caroline May Cooke, 55, died April 29, 1997, in Mary Immaculate Hospital.
A native of Vermont, she was a resident of Newport News for 23 years. She was a registered nurse for Riverside Regional Convalescent Center and retired in 1991 after 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Julian Francis Cooke; two sons, David M. Cooke of York County and Michael J. Cooke of Newport News; three grandchildren, David P. Braschler, Melissa Cooke and Jeremy Cooke, all of Newport News; father, Derwood E. Andrews of Pittsfield, Vt.; two brothers, Anthony Andrews and Nioka Andrews of Pittsfield; sister, Wanda Mock of Rutland, Vt.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Umphlett Funeral Home, Newport News, by the Rev. Vincent Smith. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
